INTERNAL TUBE COATING

Polyteknik has experience with internal thin film coating of tubes of both metal and ceramic tubes, with dimensions up to 3 m in length. The thin film deposition is made by PVD, and is done in a high vacuum environment. The deposited materials often consist of metals, but it is also possible to do reactive deposition. This opens up for a wide range of materials, e.g. oxide and nitride thin films.

The internal tube coatings are for instance used in kicker chambers for accelerator applications and RF wave guides for fusion power plants.
