Polyteknik AS PVD System Thin Film coating service EMI Shielding Electromagnetic Interference EMC

EMI SHIELDING

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding is used for blocking strong electromagnetic fields that would otherwise interfere with sensitive devices and signals. This interference may degrade the devices or stop them from working entirely.

We deliver conductive coatings that provide excellent shielding performance for electromagnetic interference, in high-volume production. These coatings are ideal for use on electronic enclosures and assemblies which require high-level reliable EMI shielding performance. Besides the addition of these excellent properties, our EMC coatings will always be optimized for your specific requirements.

COATING DETAILS

Eminit2947

The EmiNit2947 coating is ideal for use on electronic enclosures and assemblies which require high-level reliable EMI shielding performance. Polyteknik AS is capable of conducting high-volume production batches with the EmiNit2947 conductive coating.

The electrical conductivity of the coating is superior for electromagnetic compatibility. It consists of a primer layer of copper and a top layer of silver with a standard thickness of 2-2.5 µm. Other thicknesses can be achieved upon request.

The EmiNet2947 conductive coating provides superior performance for a variety of applications, including:

  • Superior EMI shielding performance at standard thickness and application
  • Excellent electrical conductivity resulting in excellent EMI shielding
  • Excellent adhesion characteristics to a variety of substrates

Eminit2479

EmiNit2479 is also ideal for use on electronic enclosures and assemblies that require reliable and stable EMI shielding. Polyteknik is capable of conducting high-volume batches with the EmiNit2947 conductive coating.

The coating is extraordinarily superior for electromagnetic shielding compatibility. The EmiNit 2479 consists of a primer layer of chromium and a top layer of gold with a standard thickness of 2-2.5 µm. Other thicknesses can be achieved upon request.

The EmiNit2479 shielding coating provides exceptional performance for a variety of applications, including:

  • Superior EMI shielding performance at standard thickness and application
  • Great electrical conductivity resulting in solid EMI shielding
  • Excellent adhesion characteristics to a variety of substrates.

Emimet

Various types of advanced materials are available to provide perfect shielding performance for electromagnetic interference. Apart from our standard EMC coatings, EmiNit2947 and EmiNit 2479, there is the possibility to use other materials as well for electromagnetic shielding performance.

Due to the substrate materials, and environmental factors in housings and components, there might be a need for a specific type of coating material, which can be determined by the characteristics and traits of the material. Stainless steel or titanium will, for example, be an excellent coating material in corrosive environments.

Besides the standard silver and gold coating for EMI shielding, we can also conduct outstanding EMC coatings by the utilization of materials, such as:

  • Aluminium
  • Stainless steel
  • Nickel
  • Titanium
