MANUFACTURING FACILITIES FOR PVD SYSTEM PRODUCTION AND COATING SERVICES

PVD SYSTEM MANUFACTURING

We house approximately 2000 sqm manufacturing facilities including our in-house PVD systems, characterisation lab, welding and machining workshop, clean assembly area, clean room, and administration. Our class 1000 cleanroom facility consists of 105 sqm production area and 32 sqm service area. This gives us some unique advantages for thin film production with top-level qualification and test of our PVD thin film deposition systems to the benefit of our customers. The cleanroom enables us to comply with the highest industrial standards and provide added value in challenging customer projects.

Polyteknik AS coating service

COATING SERVICE

Polyteknik AS has various industrial coating equipment installed for daily subcontract coating. The Coating Service division has more than 10 different variations of PVD systems in-house varying from linear sputtering to thermal evaporation. This enables us to do proof of concept on wafer, 3D objects or even roll-to-roll with varying types of processes, which can be essential for non-standard coatings. The daily production within is however focused on delivering especially electrode, highly reflective mirror, and EMI coatings in volume production.

QUALITY AND CHARACTERISATION LAB

The quality and characterisation lab is equipped with a series of tools for analysis and characterisation of the deposited coatings. We are capable of doing various measurements for characterisation of thickness, surface, and optical properties as well as resistivity, conductivity, and corrosion measurements. This ensures the highest quality coating or PVD system for our customers.

If the surface morphology of the coated product is of interest we have access to both regular scanning electron microscopes (SEM) and SEMs equipped with focused ion beam (FIB) column and EDX equipment for vertical analysis of interfaces, thickness’, and local material composition.
